Extended family session (Tom, Michelle, N, & A) – Acton, MA

There is a look of pride and happiness on Tom’s face as I pull up in the driveway. It’s the face that ran so many class meetings back in high school, the face that was forever optimistic about whatever challenges would come our way – whether we were trying to convince the school administration to change something or planning the junior prom. But today, his face is happy for other reasons, grown-up reasons. His oldest son is sitting next to him on the porch steps while inside, his beautiful wife, Michelle, holds their newborn son. In addition, his dad is on the way to join us at the house and Michelle’s parents are also here, visiting all the way from the other side of the world. It’s such a special time in their lives and here they are surrounded by those who know and appreciate the beauty (and sometimes chaos) of it all.

Tom and Michelle, congratulations on another adorable son! My heart is full seeing you all together.

Newborn session (Danielle, Patrick, C, & R) – Wakefield, MA

With the arrival of baby R, her big sister seems to have fallen easily into her new role – she helped to brush her hair, helped to change a diaper, and seems poised to teach her a whole host of important things about the world. After all, she already knows how to climb up her ever-so-tall daddy and how to request mac and cheese for lunch. What else is there? Baby sister couldn’t be cuter and even had a couple of smiles for us. Such a beautiful and sweet family right in my neighborhood!

Congratulations again, Danielle and Patrick. Wishing you lots of sleep and snuggles in the coming months.

Family portrait session – Lincoln, MA

It’s wild to think back to when I first met this awesome family about 8 years ago. They had twin boys who were curious toddlers, running around and exploring as much as they could. Fast forward to today and they are just as curious but about twice as tall as they were back then! The number of children has also doubled as they now have two girls as well, the youngest of whom reminds me of how the twins were when they were toddlers. I’ve had the privilege of photographing them periodically throughout the years and one thing is for certain – while the children all get older, the parents seem to not have aged at all! I don’t know how they do it but take a look back to almost three years ago when their youngest was born and tell me I’m wrong.

T + E, thanks so, so much for continuing to trust me to capture your crew and freeze the speeding time for you for just a minute. Long days, short years – yes?

Family portrait session (Michelle, Nathan, & M) – Somerville, MA

When little M started calling me “Grandpa” I have to admit, I was a little taken aback! But then her gracious parents explained that she had just come back from a trip where her grandfather had taken some photos of her while she was there. And who could blame him? With her independent spirit (this girl definitely knows where she wants to go and where she doesn’t want to go), her beautiful curls, and her toothy grin, she’s hard to pass up when you have a camera in hand. She was enthralled with any dog who crossed our path, curious about the bubbles mom created, and in love with the flowers her dad found for her.

Michelle and Nathan, thanks so much for sharing your morning with me! I loved seeing how much the adorable baby from last year has grown and how her spunky personality is shining through.

Extended family portrait session – Ogunquit, ME

This crew! When Kristan said it was time to photograph her and her family again along with Adam’s side of the family, I was ecstatic. They all seem to have so much fun together, especially when they are at their favorite summer vacation spot in Maine. One little guy seemed a *little* less excited than I was, but we got him to come around, at least for a little while. Lollipops solve anything – well, almost anything.

Kristan, Adam, and crew – thanks so much for another opportunity to photograph you all as the kids (not the adults) grow older. I love seeing you all together!
