Family portrait session (Nikki, Bobby, T, T, & E) – Topsfield, MA

Perfect New England fall morning, anyone? Served on a plaid platter. Topped with cider donuts. Well, maybe the cider donuts were just my imagination running wild. In any case, this amazingly sweet and fun family hit the jackpot of weather conditions for their family portrait session. The two older kids could not have been more enamored with their baby sister. And the love between them all was evident with every family tickle! The bonus to this session, however, took place indoors: for just a few minutes, the kids got to play on their indoor hockey rink that’s in their lower level of their home, complete with imitation ice.

Nikki and Bobby, what a pleasure meeting you all. I can’t make up my mind on what I loved the most: meeting such a nice family or watching your littlest one on the ice. And thanks to Mary for connecting us. Mary, you have a beautiful family!

Family portrait session (Katie, Chip, C, & R) – Boston, MA

One of the best parts of having more than one kiddo is nurturing and being witness to the bond between siblings – even if it means offering a little bribe to help said siblings realize how lucky they are to have each other. Case in point: Big brother C is SUPER lucky to have a new little sister to love and play with – and oh-my-goodness would you just look at the eyes on this cherub?! However, at this point, all he wants to do is run around the trees. Or hang from the trees. Or, eat jelly beans. I get it, little sister isn’t quite as fun (yet) since she’s still working on her sitting up skills, BUT, I can promise you this, little one: siblings are THE BEST. You are her first friend and playmate so wear that badge with pride. I’m sure someday you will both be hanging from the trees, trying your best to hang on while giggling with each other. Just you wait!

Katie and Chip, congratulations on little R! What a privilege to be able to get to see your sweet family grow. Thank you!

Family portrait session (Lindsay, Derek, Z, E, & A) – Chestnut Hill, MA

Talk about rolling with it! It was a wet and chilly morning when I first arrived at Lindsay and Derek’s beautiful home, but they were game to keep the session as scheduled and we made the best of it with some indoor portraits and used the trees as umbrellas for some outside photos. These three kiddos together were priceless! The baby was a trooper pushing through her nap time; her older sister, E, was somewhat skeptical of me at first but seemed to come around; and older brother, Z, couldn’t wait to be photographed in his sports wear. My favorite: check out the one where E is trying to give Z a big ‘ol smooch!

Thanks so much, Lindsay and Derek, for hanging in there to make this session happen! It was so lovely to meet you all.

Extended family portrait session – Danvers, MA

Ashley and Stefan now have two little boys, one who is very sure about what he wants to do and what he doesn’t want to do. The other is still working on finding a way to stand up. Stefan knows a bit what it’s like to be a big brother; he’s also one of two boys. His “little” brother, Sean, joined us for this session along with their mom, Ashley’s mom, and one super-special aunt/god-mother. It was a beautiful day to be outside with the bright fall foliage featured along the trails and everyone seemed to enjoy hanging out with these two pumpkins – the breathing ones, not the orange gourds.

Thanks again to all of you – so nice to meet the other parts of your village!

Family portrait and cake smash session – Stoneham, MA

Meghan and Dan will have some good stories to share with their little one when she’s older. For example, they can tell her about the time when she didn’t like the feel of grass (you’re not alone, little E!). Or the time during a photo session that her giant number “one” balloon came untied and floated away. Or when her “cake smash” was more like a “take-one-graceful-bite-of-cake.” She couldn’t have been cuter, or more tentative, about checking out her birthday cake. Poor thing had been battling a runny nose (’tis the season), but we made the best of it.

Dan and Meghan, thanks so much for a fun afternoon. Congratulations on making it through year #1!
