Little Lexi

There is nothing like a little baby to make your own kids seem so big! Little Lexi is just the one to make me feel this way. She was born a little early which makes her that much smaller (and cuter?). Seriously, she has some cuteness factor that I can’t explain. While this wasn’t a planned session, I couldn’t help myself from snapping a few frames of this little love.

She is a very sweet baby, despite the fact that her mom says she has one of the strongest set of lungs around!

If you saw baby photos of her oldest brother, you’d see that she looks *exactly* like him, baby mohawk and all. And who doesn’t melt with this smile?

Thanks, Vikki, for letting me catch a few of you and Lexi on your last visit! We adore her.

Is there a doctor in the house?

Remember in my last post I mentioned that my baby sister is having a year full of milestones? In addition to her getting married in June, she also completed her PhD program in Communication Disorders at UMass Amherst a couple of weeks ago.  So, while not a medical doctor, she worked so diligently for the past four years and has certainly earned those three shiny letters at the end of her name! Congrats, Alyssa. I’ll be sure to call you the next time I think Lucy has an ear infection. Heehee. I’m going to have fun with this, can you tell?

When she completed her masters she said, “I want one of those,” pointing to the striped robes and floppy hats. You wear it well, my friend.

So proud of you. Oh so proud.

So many emotions. Such cuteness.

We also congratulated ourselves on being a successful support team!

You are as brilliant on the inside as you are on the outside, lil’ sis. I admire you more than you realize. Here’s to you, Alyssa, on an impressive 26 years as a student! Love you lots.

A big year for the “little one”

OK, OK, so this “little one” isn’t really a baby in the infant sense of the word. Let me explain. Anyone who knows me knows that I am one of four girls. My three sisters are at the center of my soul, the root of my being. It is with much joy that this year we celebrate the “baby” of the family, Alyssa Rose, as she reaches a number of milestones. One such momentous occasion is her upcoming marriage to someone who has been “Uncle” Adam in our family for a long time. Along with a dear friend of hers, my two other sisters and I hosted a shower for her a couple weeks ago. Isn’t she so pretty?!

She was the perfect shower honoree, pairing sophistication with a healthy does of silliness (complete with a rubber chicken, courtesy of her future father-in-law!).

Her maid of honor, Rainelle, worked hard to keep things in line with Alyssa’s desire for simplicity and earthiness.

Hugs to our grandmother and kisses for the hubby-to-be.

Alyssa, I love you dearly and cannot wait to celebrate with you and Adam in June! Woohoo! (Photo credit below: Tiffany, aka cousin-in-law of the year!)
