Kidcasso Art Studio

I’m excited to announce a wonderful new partnership with Wakefield’s very own kid art studio, Kidcasso. Kidcasso is owned by Laura-Marie Small, an engaging and enthusiastic local mama of two. She and her sister, Emily, run classes in the studio for children ages 6-months all the way up to high school. Throughout the past two months, I’ve had the privilege of photographing one class session for each age group. The creativity, sensory experience, and learning that I witnessed was inspiring and appropriately varied for each class. Little ones got to drive toy cars through their puddles of paint. 3-year-olds made marks on their canvas with plastic forks. Preschoolers created cupcakes out of clay and then painted them. Elementary-age kids learned about how to create movement using dots and layers of paint. Middle-schoolers sculpted giant ice cream cones. And the older crowd worked intensely on self-selected personal projects that were quite impressive. If you’re looking for some art time for your little (or not so little) ones, check this place out. Side benefit: you don’t have to wash out the paintbrushes.

Laura-Marie, I so enjoy working with you and look forward to what lies ahead for us!

Twin newborn session (Jay, Kristen, J, & K) – North Reading, MA

Both of their arms are full – all the time. Whether it’s with a baby, two babies, bottles, blankets, diapers, or burp cloths, they don’t have any extra hands to spare at the moment. Their hearts are even fuller. Baby J and baby K are finally here and Jay and Kristen are reveling in it. They are reveling in the chaos, the busyness, the mess of what comes with having two newborns. They have already mastered the “switch-off” protocol. They are lighthearted and calm. The babies on the other hand… well, at least one is calm. Beautiful baby K slept throughout most of my time there. Sweet and feisty J had other things on his mind. Like food. And more food. Being a bit bigger than his sister, he snuggled up to her sleepyhead and had a look about him that said he was going to hatch a plan to watch out for her. Forever.

Jay and Kristen, I couldn’t be happier for your full and beautiful home. Wishing all four of you lots of snuggles and moments of awe. And, of course, good naps all around.

Newborn session (Megan, B, & baby B) – Winchester, MA

When dear friends had their second baby, I couldn’t wait to head over and photograph them all together. As luck would have it, between various health issues for various people, busy weekends with kids, snowstorms, and work, we couldn’t make it happen for all of them to be there at the same time when I had availability. So, we made do with sweet Megan, beautiful big sister, and adorable baby B. The daddy was the missing piece. It so happened that we had Megan’s father there at the time so we managed to get a few grandfather shots in there instead. We had a shorter than normal session since we had to kind of squeeze it in but I’m so glad that we made it happen given how fast babies change and how cute this little baby is! I can’t wait to get all 4 of you together soon. We love you all so much and look forward to watching both of your girls grow.
