Baby, it’s cold outside – Concord, MA

These two are troopers! It was SO cold and windy the morning of our Christmas-themed session but these two munchkins weathered the elements and made the best of it. Handsome N loved the idea that the sled was a rocket ship and couldn’t get enough of the countdown to blast off. Sweet O, despite the wonderfully fluffy ear muffs, eventually realized that it was a chilly morning and gave the universal signal that she was cold. It was an abbreviated session time-wise but it didn’t fall short when it came to enthusiasm. Steve, thanks for rolling with it despite your own cold. Christen, you always seem to be so-put together despite the chaotic week you had! The birthday party for O and N was one of my first shoots of the year; happy to end the year with you as well.

Christmas cuddles – Newton, MA

A baby’s first Christmas. A 3-year-old’s first Christmas as a big sister. I’ve always found Christmas to be a magical time, and through the eyes of a child, it becomes that much more meaningful. Big sister, O, had her favorite ornaments already picked out and was ready to show me how sparkly her dress was. Baby A simply enjoyed her toes and looked adorable in her Christmas PJs. The love in the house grew when their cousin and grandmother joined in! Thank you, Maggie and Joel, for letting me get a peek inside the magic for your family.

Two times a charm – Burlington, MA

This session brought me back to a day that I remember from my childhood when I refused to have my photo taken at Plymouth Plantation. The end result is a photo of my three smiling sisters and me, pouting and trying to hide my face. So, I could relate to sweet little S when she decided that she did not want to have her photo taken. At all. So we went with it and instead just worked with her two, very handsome older brothers. I went back a week later and tried a second time. She was a *little* more amenable this time around. Katie and Sean, you have an adorable family! Thanks so much for all your patience and giving it a second try.

Family love – Natick, MA

I first met this family a year ago – it was a cold, cold day in Boston that necessitated some hot chocolate near the end of the session (there are worse things, right?). This year though, we lucked out with a seasonably warm day and a bit of snow still left on the ground, bonus! I loved how these two kiddos would get together for a sibling photo and, without any direction, would start hugging and even give a kiss here and there! So, so sweet. Thanks so much, Michele and Paul, for a great little shoot with your kiddos. I got a kick out of the bit of spunk and the full-on performance of “All About That Bass” – so impressive!

Those cheeks – Rye, NH

He had the kind of cheeks you just want to squish. And smooch. And snuggle. Oh my goodness, those cheeks. At just 3-months old, sweet J is off the charts, already wearing 6-month old clothes. So completely squishable! And even though it’s just been a few months since he’s joined this wonderful family, it seems as though he’s been a part of them all along. Big sister C has taken well to her important new role. Amy and Aaron handled things in stride even when J decided his mama needed a wardrobe change à la reflux style. Since we had a nice extended session planned, we were able to document some of the real life moments as well as do some more traditional portraits. Thanks once again for allowing me to photograph these oh-so-precious moments. Sending wishes for lots of smiles from those amazing cheeks!
