My favorite niece – Wingaersheek Beach, Gloucester, MA

I can totally say that because I only have one niece (for now, at least) – oh, and she happens to be pretty darn adorable, smart, and funny. Anyways, since most of my clients have young children, being able to do a beach shoot at dusk is understandably hard to come by. But since this was my sister, I was able to strong arm her into pushing Little Miss C’s bedtime a bit to take advantage of the oh-so-magical light that happens around 7pm. I think it was worth it.

Wingaersheek offers some interesting landscapes and beautiful white sand.

Brave little girl (and parents)!

I love you Little Miss C!

Thanks, Rainelle and Doug, for risking a tricky bedtime for our little shoot. It was so fun for me to be able to hang out with you guys and be focused on my sweet niece (which doesn’t happen often given that I normally have my two little ones in tow when we see each other). Love you lots.

Beyond Cute in Boston – Boston Public Garden

Cute, cute, cute! These two little girls were so much fun during this early morning session. Big sister *loved* to run (and did so without falling once!) and little sister could have been happy singing “Happy Birthday” the entire session. I first met this family about a year ago when Little D was first born. And now that she’s walking, these two certainly keep their parents on their toes.

How cute are they, you ask? Super cute!

We all loved this little “tree cave” we found with a secret door.

I couldn’t help myself with this outtake series. Blame this one on a lively rendition of “Happy Birthday.”

These girls are just so sweet. And check out the impromptu pose from Little A!

The Public Garden was especially meaningful as this is where these two sweethearts were married – in this exact spot! Thank you so much for a fun morning, Carrie & Jeff!

The Fab Five – North Hampton, NH

There are lots of parts that I absolutely love about being a family photographer, meeting new families is one of them. But there is something uniquely special seeing someone from my past with their family. I went to high school with Dave for a year and my husband’s family and his family are long time friends. Dave now has a sweet family of five, including their friendly dog, Reese.

After this session I decided I want a chaise lounge just like this. Complete with umbrella. Little E, you’ve got it made!

Such a cutie pie!

Congrats on a beautiful family, Dave and Anne!

Four Generations of Love – Ogunquit, ME

My dear friend, Kristan, and I have known each other since we were in high school; let’s just say that was a few (or more than a few) years ago. Our stories of how we each met our husbands is a bit convoluted and intertwined. We each have two kids. We have both started small businesses since becoming moms. Oh, and we share a birthday!

Needless to say, I was thrilled when she asked me to do a shoot with her extended family! Four generations were all present for this outdoor session at her father-in-law’s vacation home in Maine. They are such a lovely family!

I love that for this shot, I was just checking out the light when little Miss E struck a pose alongside her unsuspecting brother.

You could just feel the sense of pride she holds in her heart for her family.

I can’t stop looking at this one. Little J has a wrinkle-nose smile while Little E and her grandfather each have this grin that is a tell tale sign that they are related.

Check out this character (or as we lovingly called it, her ‘tude).

Cutie-pie littles! Little J could not be bothered to sit still but we still managed to catch him on the run.

Who doesn’t love bubbles?

I think we employed little E behind the camera to help get these winning smiles. Good job, E!

Thank you to all of you for letting me have some fun in your yard. What a handsome looking bunch you are!

Sand, surf, and sun – Wallis Sands, Rye, NH

I’ve known the L family for a couple of years now and these two little sweet peas are melt-your-heart worthy. They also believe (like mine!) that 5:30am is a perfectly acceptable time to wake up. How does the saying go, “the early bird catches the good light?” We took advantage of their internal clocks and met at 7:30am at Wallis Sands State Beach in Rye, NH. (And even then the sun was in full force!)

I loved the pop of color of these dresses. Little B is such a peanut but full of spirit and spunk.

The girls found the lifeguard chair and played a healthy dose of peek-a-boo for a bit. I just love these smiles.

Little K seemed less than intimidated by the decent surf that morning. Brave soul for such a lil’ body!

It’s so much fun to play in the waves. The joy comes naturally.

Thank you, Kim and Dustin for another fun session! Your girls are precious and I enjoy spending time with them. Hope you all have fun on your big trip!
